    Pro-Life Work is Not Done
    1. Women will still face unwanted pregnancies. Many of these women feel trapped, coerced, or powerless, and some will seek abortions to escape. Whether or not we live in a state (like Washington) where abortion will remain legal for the time being, these women still need our help; they need to know that they don’t need abortion, that we can help them face these challenges in a way that is good for them and for the child. In a Post-Roe world we will continue to meet their needs. (Pregnancy and Family Assistance)
    2. Women and men are still suffering the trauma of past abortions. Many people had abortions thinking it was an answer to their problems; they believed it wasn’t really a person, or that they had no choice, or that it was the merciful choice. Many of these people – both the women who had the abortion and the men who were part of it – now face the trauma of that event. With Roe’s overturning now causing people to question abortion, it is likely that even more people will be confronting their past decisions. The pro-life movement will continue to help these people on their journeys of healing and forgiveness – no judgment, only help. (Abortion Recovery Programs)
    3. Our Nation is Still Divided, and Persuasive Dialogue is Key. Now that public opinion actually has the means to change the law state by state, it is more important than ever that we have good conversations. That means:
      • Do Not Gloat – Not only is it petty and rude, but it’s also harmful to the pro-life cause. It plays into the stereotype that we’re callous and uncaring, and makes it near impossible for people to take us seriously, even if what we say is true. If people think our moral compass is broken, they - understandably - won't listen to us.
      • Listen to Their Concerns – Many supporters of abortion fear that ending abortion will cause catastrophic harm to women in this country. While we disagree, the fact is that they’ve been misinformed. From their perspective, their fears are legitimate, and IF what they believed WAS true, we might well agree with them.
      • Address Their Fears – By understanding how to alleviate their fears, we can help them come to a life-affirming perspective. We can share with them the truth about what abortion really is – and what it isn’t – which can help them stand with us against abortion.
  • 5 Tips For If Roe is Overturned Outline below
    1. Don’t take a victory lap. Remember what people on the other side are afraid of. Know what overturning Roe won’t do.
    2. Know the pro-life resources geared towards helping women and children. Our work doesn’t end with abortion’s end.
    3. Learn how to respond to pro-choice arguments with love, respect, and compelling reasoning.
    4. Show you’re pro-life in a way that shows who pro-lifers truly are.
    5. Know the abortion recovery services that are available and be ready to help people find healing.
  • Pro-Choice concerns after Roe / Dobbs case (10.5 minutes)
  • Pastors Can Reduce Abortions in Their Congregation (10 minutes)
    1. Speak up about abortion instead of being silent so as not to offend anyone.
    2. Commit to treating pregnant women with grace and compassion instead of shame and rejection.
    3. Encourage the people to embrace the new life while dissuading pre-marital sex that begot that life, and to go and sin no more.
  • Dobbs Court Overturns Roe v. Wade: What Now for Pro-Life? (7.5 minutes)
    1. Continue supporting women and families in difficult situations

Living Will License to Kill

A Living Will (LW) is downright dangerous. It gives an attending physician, very likely someone you do not know, the power to make life and death decisions for you based on their interpretation of the directions in your LW. Real medical crises often involve complicated medical and ethical questions that can’t be foreseen when filling out a LW. Also, the directions you give in a LW, by law, must be followed. Therefore, you may tie the hands of a physician whose skills could restore you to health

Legal Science:

After hundreds of years of slave-based culture, the United States decreed slaves freed. The culture of that time took a while to acknowledge the terms of everyone's freedom of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Over time, those terms found enhanced definitions. Life became defined as starting at conception's fertilization. Liberty and pursuit of happiness became more defined as doing what you want between two consenting humans in areas of desegregation, contraception, divorce, and sexual relations. While the Catholic and other churches generally rejects contraception, the US government ends up supporting contraception. Generally, some legal cases created sketchy, incorrectly defined, right to privacy concepts that were loosely associated to several amendments. They then hoped that the 14th amendment's due process and equal protection clauses could glue them together. With the 14th amendment, basically, everyone gets a chance for justice and that justice should be equally determined - what's justice for you should be justice for me.

Details:
  • The United States established freedom from the King of England via a revolutionary war founded on the concept of a republic governance (1776)
  • 14th Amendment to US Constitution (1789) Not deprive any person of life, liberty, or property without due process and equal protection of laws
  • Discovery of the female egg, aka, the ovum (1827) - https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/features/pill-timeline/
  • Discovery of conception at fertilization (1843)
  • Negro slaves freed as part of American Civil War (Government of the people, for the people, by the people. (1863, Abe Lincoln, 1809 - 1865)
  • Margaret Sanger (1879 - 1966), born 6th child of poor, working class Irish Catholic immigrant in New York, founded Planned Parenthood (1916) to weed out the undesirables via eugenics due to the culture of her day.
  • Plessy v. Ferguson (1896) created 'separate but equal' segregation for railway cars. . .
  • "Rhythm Method" birth control devised in Japan (1924)
  • Brown v. Board of Education (1954) desegregates schools and over-turns Plessy v. Ferguson
  • Oral "birth control" pill (1955) proved effective by Dr. John Rock
  • Browder v. Gayle (1956) desegregates busses
  • President Eisenhower (1959) states that birth control 'is not a proper political or government activity or function or responsibility . . . not our business.'
  • FDA approves the Enovid pill for menstrual disorders, but is used as contraceptive. (1960)
  • President Johnson (1964) pushes through legislation for federal support of birth control for the poor.
  • Grisswold (Planned Parenthood) v. Connecticut (1965) kill contraception ban for married couples due to right to privacy
  • Loving v. Virginia (1967) allow interracial marriage as a white man can marry a white woman, so can a white man marry a black woman.
  • No-fault divorce (1969) Ronald Reagan, governor of California, introduces easy divorce that results in many divorces across the country.
  • Eisenstadt v. Baird (1972) kill contraception ban for unmarried couples due to right to privacy
  • Roe v. Wade (1973) attorneys use the courts, and without representation establish an ambiguous 'right to privacy' concept an ambiguous trimester system of 'potential life' without relying upon any long-established precedent for depriving that potential life, that we know to be a human life, of its life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.
  • US Government (1974) supports birth control clinics in 2,379 of the nation's 3,099 counties.
  • Bowers v. Hardwick (1984) ban on Sodomy
  • Planned Parenthood v. Casey (1992) removes abortion requirement for the spouse or father's awareness, adds ambiguous 'undue burden' and 'viability' terms as well as having no precedent other than Roe, a case that also enflamed debate and deepened division in the nation on the abortion issue.
  • Defense Of Marriage Act (1996) has section 3 declaring marriage as being one man and one woman. The act defined domestic partners as having tax status as 'single'.
  • Lawrence v. Texas (2003) overrules Bowers v. Hardwick and removes ban on Sodomy due to the fact that heterosexual couples could have anal sex.
  • United States v. Windsor (2013) struck down DOMA section 3 and allowed federal benefits to married same-sex couples.
  • Obergefell v. Hodges (2015) asserts same-sex marriage and without representation kills all state's same-sex marriage bans in the United States.
  • Dobbs v Jackson (2022) struck down Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey due to their ambiguous claims, unsupported in the US constitution or its history, to a right to abortion prior to some arbitrary point in time in a pregnancy. Rights to which one is entitled after birth do not require the Constitution to deprive a human life of even the most basic human right - to live - at least until some arbitrary point in a pregnancy has passed.
